How Having a Second Phone Number and Cutting Down on Email Made Me 75% More Productive

As a growth consultant, email is the bane of my existence. If you are an entrepreneur or freelancer, you can probably relate. A few months ago I started to realize how much time I spent on email: I used a fun tool called rescue time and it told me I was spending 6-8 hours of active time per week in Gmail. I received almost 250 emails a day! I was spending much too much time on email and not enough getting critical tasks done.     Fast forward a few months. I now receive a quarter of the emails […]

4 Questions You Probably Have Never Asked Yourself

***Please share your answers with me as I am so interested in hearing what you have to say-Email to cort@aninspiringexistence.com *** Thats right, I am going to present to you just 4 simple questions that I know for a fact most of you haven’t considered.  How do I know this?  Because I have taken it upon myself to conduct a social experiment in search of people passions and in doing so I have asked 100+ people these 4 simple questions. When I ask most people, they are typically mesmerized with confusion at first.  Many have told me they have never considered these […]

The Key To Living Your Ideal Day

“There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” -Nelson Mandela “How do I pursue my dreams of world travel without screwing up my career?”  This is a question I have been asked often lately.  How do you experience all you have dreamed of without blowing up your ability to live? Many of us constantly ask ourselves this.  The world is as accessible as ever and yet most of us get trapped in an endless loop of career growth and life stagnation. I […]

How Traveling Abroad Saves You Money!

I just spent five weeks on the Amalfi peninsula in Italy and for 25% less than what I spend in San Diego in a month and it was at the height of tourism season! I actually saved money by traveling and this includes all of my plane tickets, trains, and entertainment cost. Even more stunning, going for 2 weeks would have cost me more! Let me show you some tips and tricks, but first lets talk about all the money we save by going abroad. Eliminating Expenses While Abroad The amount of expenses I was able to cut or put […]

Try Traveling Alone To Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Scussi, babada boobie, bebada boobada bobida! -Peter Griffin Traveling alone to a small town in Italy with very little English speaking locals has proved to be more difficult than I anticipated.  Even with my two months of Italian training I have been somewhat socially isolated.  Even the Peter Griffin mustache method proved to not work as well as anticipated. Sure I can chat up the tourists but that’s not what I am here for. I am here to live the Italian culture.  I realized today that I put myself in a very precarious situation.  Unless I become conversationally fluent and […]

Choosing Your Extended World Travel Destination- You Know You Want Too!

This is my first segment of many in my new “Extended World Travel” category and I am super excited to share all my experiences and help you realize the dream (if it is a dream) of living abroad for an extended period of time.  This is no vacation.  This is full cultural immersion.  Enjoy! I just took off from New York’s JFK headed to Rome with a quick layover in Dublin.  I figured the Irish were as good as any to get me to Europe in one piece and with good beer to boot. This is my first trip in […]

Do You HATE Your Work- Make A Change And Find Your Passion

“People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances with our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.” ― Joseph Campbell, The Power of Myth Do you have the great job or perhaps a company you built from the ground up that you are proud of? Perhaps you are moving along pretty well, making some great […]

We all want Time Freedom

I just got back from Cabo San Lucas and it was a relaxing five days of lounging on the beach, watching whales at play, eating fish tacos, and exploring the Baja.  I rarely get to relax like that but I am making it a new habit because I had a explosion of creativity.  Just sitting with a pad and paper watching the ocean, I came up with a dozen new blog topics and even a good topic for a book.  I am really enjoying my time freedom which leads me to this blog post.  What is the definition of time […]
